Standing room only -- We packed the room with our concerns about the quality and availability of services that are being provided at our local, Daniel Freeman Marina Hospital. We gave testimony about our great physicians, nurses and staff at DFMH and why we needed our vital hospital, centered in our community, servicing over 100,000 residents, visitors and tourists. LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) is the number one terrorist target for the state of California, according to Attorney General, Bill Lockyer (L.A.Times, 2003). DFMH is the closest hospital to LAX. With the County of L.A. concurrently closing healthcare facilities, we demanded that our hospital stay open and Tenet Healhcare not be permitted to close it.
