Doctors & Community Leaders Fighting

Closures at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital;
Announce Campaign to Save Heart Clinics

Tenet Healthcare closing Inglewood clinics on December 5th

Tenet Healthcare Corporation, the subject of several federal and state investigations, will close its Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pacemaker and Congestive Heart Failure clinics on December 5th.  The closure of the clinics could result in unnecessary hospitalizations and the loss of independence for many seniors in a community that suffers the highest rate of cardiovascular disease in the county.

WHAT:           A coalition of doctors, patients, elected officials and community organizations will hold a rally and press conference to announce their opposition and the actions they are taking to prevent Tenet Healthcare Corporation’s closure of Daniel Freeman Hospital’s heart clinics. Leaders are calling on Attorney General Lockyer to stop the closures.

WHO:             Coalition for Quality Healthcare including AGENDA, Community Health Councils, Consumers Union, MCH Access, National Health Law Program, SEIU, Women’s Health Law Center and We CAHRE & SOMH

WHERE:        Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital, 333 North Prairie, Inglewood, CA 90301
