US Senate committee investigating Tenet Healthcare

LOS ANGELES, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Tenet Healthcare Corp. (nyse: TCH - news - people), already beset by multiple government probes and earnings weakness, on Friday said the U.S. Senate Finance Committee is investigating the hospital operator's corporate governance practices with respect to federal health care programs.
Tenet, based in Santa Barbara, California, said the committee has asked the company to supply it with numerous documents principally relating to its Redding Medical Center in northern California, physician relationships, alleged unnecessary medical procedures and certain Medicare payments.
Tenet said it would cooperate with the committee.
